I would hope that no one in America can see these colors and think of anything but the American flag. It is a symbol of America and our freedom and everything we have overcome and will overcome as a country, since the day we hit Plymouth rock.
Recently, my good friend and I have taken under our wings a Danish friend. we have told him all about Veterans day, Columbus day, Thanksgiving, we are trying to help him understand what America is about and the history of America so that when he goes back to Denmark he will bleed red white and blue.
It is important for people to be proud of where they are from and who they are. So make sure your children not only know about America, but about where they are from, whether it be Italian, Spanish, Welsh, Asian.. etc. America is the Land of dreams, and let them have theirs.
